The highly anticipated results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SLC) Examination 2019 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) of Assam were announced today. With an overall pass percentage of 75.49%, the exam recorded an impressive result.
A total of 2,33,859 students appeared for the examination this year, of which 1,76,354 passed. Among them, 43.59% secured first division, 28.91% secured second division and 24.50% secured third division, while there were also a notable number of students who secured GPA-10. Data also showed that students from rural areas performed better than their counterparts from urban areas.
The individual district performances also varied quite significantly. While Lakhimpur district recorded the highest pass percentage of 90.63%, Karimganj district had the lowest pass percentage of 64.83%. The director of BSE also expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of the students and observed that there has been an improvement in the results over previous years.
The successful students are appreciating the hard work of their teachers and giving credit to the rigorous teaching provided to them. The BSE exam seems to have certainly done justice to its students who have been diligently preparing for the last few months.
