The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most sought-after exams in India. Every year, millions of students appear for it in the hope of getting admission into one of the top engineering institutes. The results of the exam are eagerly anticipated by all students and their families, as it marks the beginning of a new chapter in their life. Recently, the results of the JEE (Main) Paper 1 2020 were declared and the fate of many aspiring engineers was sealed.
The exam was conducted in two phases: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The marks obtained by the candidates in Paper 1 were considered for admissions to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IITs), and other participating government colleges.
The JEE (Main) Paper 1 result 2020 was declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on its official website. The result declared focused on the student percentile score and the cut-off set by the respective institute.
The student percentile score is a ‘qualifying score’ and is calculated based on the performance of all the students in the examination. The cut-off is the minimum score required in order to be eligible for admission in a particular institute. The cut-offs are set after taking into consideration the difficulty of the paper, the performance of the students, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats in each institute.
The top three rank holders of the JEE (Main) Paper 1 exam are Harsh Jain from Jabalpur, Rajasthan; Akshat Chugh from Delhi; and Ritvik S Agarwal from Uttar Pradesh. Harsh secured an All India Rank of 1 with a perfect score of 100 percentile.
The students who had appeared for the paper can now apply for the IITs, NITs, and other participating institutes based on their percentile rank and chosen course. Apart from this, the National Testing Agency will also provide the students with the facility of skills upgradation, where they can pursue their chosen field of engineering while UPgrading their skills.
We congratulate all the successful students and wish them the best of luck for their future.
