Odisha’s State Government recently announced the newest Kalia Yojana new list 2022 to benefit nearly 27 lakh farmers in the state. Aiming to assist landless street vendors and farmers who don’t have access to credit, the program will dole out ₹10,000 worth of assistance for seed production, crop expenses, farm machinery, health insurance and life insurance coverage.

The Odisha government has found the necessary funds from its Rs. 11,711 crore budget for the year 2021-2022. The total funding earmarked for the Kalia Yojana is about ₹6,000 crore.

Beginning from 15 February 2021, the Kalia Yojana new list 2022 will cover farmers from 106 blocks in eight districts of the state along with the urban poor and street vendors. The districts include Rayagada, Ganjam, Ganjam pur, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal.

According to reports, the list includes 2.27 lakh marginal farmers and 5.24 lakh small and marginal farmers. Also, nearly 12.54 lakh small and marginal landless families, 433 thousand agricultural landless families, 3.268 lakh SC/ST and 3.44 lakh small and marginal landless street vendors would benefit from the scheme. It also includes 7,596 beneficiaries who are under the Antyodaya scheme.

The scheme’s primary focus is to help landless labourers, marginal, and small landowners and farmers with resources to improve their livelihoods and financial stability. The scheme has also been implemented with Common Service Centres (CSCs) which is an IT enabled service for delivering e-governance to rural communities.
