Today, the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) results were revealed for the 2020 academic year. The results were announced by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
The KCET exam was conducted by the KEA from 20th to 22nd April, 2021. A total of 1.5 lakh students had registered for the exam. Of those, nearly 1.43 lakh students appeared for the exam in various centres across the state of Karnataka.
The results have been released online and can be accessed on the official KEA website. Those who have appeared in the examination can log onto the website using their registration ID and date of birth.
The KCET scores are based on a 100-point system. The marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (for its relevant tests only) will be converted into a maximum of 100 marks each. The marks will then be totalled to a maximum of 400 marks.
The scores obtained by students in the KCET will be used for admissions to various professional courses in the state of Karnataka such as Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Architecture and Pharmacy. The qualified students will be eligible for admissions to the participating institutes. The admissions are expected to be closed by the 3rd of May, 2021.
Students who wish to challenge the results can do so by applying for the revaluation process before May 15, 2021. The students can apply for a re-check/re-evaluation by submitting the requisite documents to the KEA. The revaluation results will be declared by June 2021.
The successful students have been advised to keep the KCET results safe, as they will be required during counselling and admissions.
