The Karnataka State Police recently announced that it will be carrying out recruitment for the post of Constable (Men & Women). All interested and eligible candidates can apply for the positions via online method from all across the state from 25th November 2020.
This recruitment process is open to select eligible and keen individuals, who will be provided with training and skill sets to develop their knowledge and expertise. In this recruitment procedure, there is a total of 2,222 vacancies for Constable (Men & Women). This year, all posts are open to eligible Indian Nationals i.e. citizens of India.
The selection procedure consists of two phases – Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test. The brief details of each test are given below:
• Physical Standard Test: This test is based on height, chest and other parameters. The minimum height requirement for the post of Constable (Men) is 168 cms and for the post of Constable (Women), it is 157 cms. The minimum chest requirement for the post of Constable (Men) is 86 cms (with an expansion of 5 cms for the Himalayan Range & North- East states) and for the post of Constable (Women), it is 81 cms (with an expansion of 5 cms for the Himalayan Range & North- East states).
• Physical Efficiency Test: This test consists of a 5 Km run within 25 minutes, which will be mandatory for all male and female candidates.
The Karnataka State Police has also stipulated that all candidates must fulfill the physical standards or else they will not be allowed to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test. Furthermore, relaxation may be provided to candidates as per the rules and regulations of the Karnataka Police.
Along with the physical tests, the Karnataka State Police will also conduct written examinations, which shall include topics relating to General Knowledge, Mental Aptitude and Basic English.
Appliers who will qualify the various tests will be finally selected for the post of Constable in the Karnataka State Police.
